New Puppy and Medicine

November 18, 2013, 4:32 PM
Q: I wrote about our new micro teacup maltese (9 weeks old) and the medicine that we started this am. She seemed lethargic and her eyes were red & puffy although she still ate...You answered to stop the medicine for a bit and see. After I emailed I got her to sip a bunch of sugar water (water & karo) and she perked right up. I now believe the new environment (my large office in a pen) and the excitement and crying (not being held) may have made her eyes puffy. She seems much better, just tired. Does this sound like a good idea to you?
A: Continue encouraging her to eat and continue 3cc's half Karo half water each 2 hours until she is eating well. Give me an update midmorning on Tuesday and we will decide what to do.
