Sleep Time

Q: My 15 wk old morkie, cooper, sleeps all night but gets up at 5:00am. I don't get him until 6:00. Will he ever sleep longer? He goes to bed at 9:30pm
A: At 15 weeks sleeping uninterrupted from 9:30pm to 5-6:00am is actually evidence of a consistent training routine on your part. Obviously the simplest approach would be to delay his bedtime but if that is not practical for you then you might also try adding a play pen to his crate along with some interactive toys so that he has more ways to occupy himself. Eight hours of continuos sleep is more than adequate for his body, many puppies his age would be doing good to go 6 hours.
