Tear stain

June 17, 2021, 6:47 AM
Q: I have a 4mo old Maltese with excessive tearing and staining. I use Angel Eyes wipes and supplements as directed. I keep the hair around her eyes clean, dry, groomed, and cut short. I have tried EVERY brand of tear stain removers, washes, wipes,...on the market, including home remedies. Nothing works. She is on an organic human-grade diet rich with Omegas and nutrients. Our Veterinarian recommends seeing a Veterinarian Ophthalmologist. It may be genetic or allergy or something irregular regarding her ducts, lashes, etc... Any other advice before I go to the Ophthalmologist?
A: We can certainly discuss this.  Is there a convenient time and number to reach you?   The opthalmology visit is not necessary if the eyes look normal, it is usually not the eye that is the problem.
