Medicine causing soft stool?

April 20, 2018, 1:49 PM
Q: My 5 month old Teddy Bear is having soft stools. She has been having soft stools for almost a week now. Her food is the same. Her behavior is normal and she is eating and drinking water as per usual. No throw up. Last week I started her on chewable for parasite control. Could that be it? We go camping a lot and our vet recommended we start her on them.
A: Not knowing which medication you gave her makes it a little more uncertain but there is a chance that started the change in her stool. Since she feels good it is ok to try some home therapy. Give her 0.5ml of pepto bismol orally twice a day for 3 days and then let me know if that doesn’t solve the problem.
