Pees when excited

June 15, 2018, 7:20 AM
Q: Puppy is about 5 months old. It was an ease to potty train but now we gave a problem. When ever one of us home or the first thing in the morning when he first sees us he pees a little because he is excited. At first I thought it was just because he was excited but now wondering if it is a health issue like urinary infection because this never happened until now.
A: What you describe is not related to your potty training success and usually is not due to infection. Excitement urination will usually improve as the puppy matures, sometimes delaying neutering helps as the hormones produced during puberty help in maturing the valve that keeps the bladder closed.
