April 10, 2014, 11:26 PM- Q: Hi, We have a 15 week old maltese/shih tzu and were wondering when it was time to feed him puppy food only. Currently his meals are about half dry Eukanuba puppy food and half chopped up chicken. Thanks
- A: The idea behind suggesting baby food, yogurt or chicken as an additive is to make it more likely that your puppy will eat regularly during the transition to his new home. Once his appetite is predictable for 5-7 days in a row and if his attitude is good you can start to reduce the enticements and gradually change to the puppy food of your choice.
