How long for walks

April 9, 2017, 3:29 PM
Q: I have a 13 week old Morkie. She weighs 3.5 lbs and is really active. How far or how long is it ok to walk her? We went out today for 20 mins at her pace. She did a lot of exploring so it wasn't a hard or fast walk. She really loved it and had a nap afterwards. What is appropriate for a distance or length of time for a walk with a little pup like this? Thank u!
A: There are many factors that determine the answers to your questions. Things such as type of substrate, terrain, time of day,and temperature just to name a few. You know she is good with the level of her previous walk so build from there. Wat h her close and she will send you signals as you obviously observe closely.
