Green Bean Treats

March 28, 2015, 2:10 PM
Q: We have a new baby yorkie. I have read that steamed green beans is a healthier treat as opposed to packaged treats. Is this true? If so, is 9 weeks too young to start, as a reward, during potty training, or could this cause stomach problems? She presently weighs 1lb 6oz.
A: Green beans certainly are low calorie and healthful they still can be overdone and lead to tummy upset. One bean would probably make for 4snacks. Ther will be some puppies that accept beans very quick and others just wouldn't like them at all. Worth a try.
