Is grain free better?

Q: In addition to Royal Canin dry dog food, what others would you suggest as the best options in dry dog food for my little 4lb. yorkie ? I want to give her the best most healthy food that I can..So many are now advocating grain free products. Do you agree ?

A: There are many quality puppy foods available, I can say there is not really a best. I don't feel a food that is grain free has an advantage for a healthy young puppy. Your puppy is not the same as the wild carnivores food manufacturers like to use in their ads.
