Training Tips

Changing potty areas

August 8, 2020, 1:25 PM
Q: My 14 week old Aussiechon is doing well with outside potty training. Sometimes when we are away from home and take her to an appropriate grassy area to potty she will not go. At times she has held it for hours until we returned home. What could be some reasons for this & how can we get her comfortable with pottying in other places besides our home yard? We have been socializing her since we got her at 8 weeks (going for car rides, visiting close family, etc).
A: The most reliable method is just to keep using the other areas as much as possible. Sometimes taking some of her poop to the alternative areas can trigger a response.
