Training Tips

Changing Location During Training

March 16, 2016, 10:28 PM
Q: We have had our 10 wk old puppy at home with us one week and so far he is doing very well with his potty training in the pup-pee-poo palace. We are debating visiting family next week in which case we would set up his palace in our relative's house. Would this be too disruptive to his training? We do not want to have to start back at square one with this upon return.
A: It is undeniable that consistency is very important, if your puppy has started to show compliance with the current routine then taking the cage with you may work okay. Certainly if you look at the down side of leaving him in another environment without you the set back would be greater.
