Outdoor potty training

April 8, 2020, 1:28 PM
Q: I submitted a question several days ago but did not receive a response (checked junk main too). My question was about potty training if using a pup pee palace. If we want to ultimately train for outside elimination, do we try to not allow the puppy to eliminate in the crate so she is not confused as to where she is allowed to go? We plan on leaving her for a few hours during the daytime (once work is back to normal) so is it possible to train to use both methods or is that too much to expect?
A: If outdoor training is the goal you need to keep her outside as much as possible and interrupt sleep, play and eating, pick her up and carry her outside. Stay until she eliminates and pour on the praise.
