Is Puppy Daycare Ok?

September 29, 2016, 11:12 PM
Q: My 5 month morkie was 100% pottie trained using pee pads. To increase her social skills I put her in puppy day care last week. I informed them of her pee pads but they stated all the dogs uses the same play area to potty n they clean up immediately after them. Two days n a row after daycare she started pooing on my carpet. It took me several days to correct her. She went to daycare today and again she pooed in the hallway. I believe the daycare is messing/ confusing her up with her training. I feel like I have to train her all over. 1. What is your thoughts and 2. What do you recommend to socialize her instead of puppy daycare
A: Generally I would think daycare would not be attempted until 14 weeks or later, and that the daycare should try to support your trainng efforts. If they don't seem to want to do that I would try attending day parks and even just walks in public areas. This is assuming that your puppy is at least 2 weeks past her last vaccinations.
