Mini Aussiedoodle Grooming

Depending on which parent breed has the more dominant genes in the Mini Aussiedoodle mix, these dogs can come in a straight, wavy, or curly-textured coat. Curly hair is unlikely to shed, but it does need to be brushed regularly to avoid tangles. Mini Aussiedoodles with wavy or straight hair shed very little and need to be brushed once or twice every week to avoid fallen hair matting onto their coats. Your Mini Aussiedoodle will require a bath at home or at the groomer every month or so, using dog shampoo. It is beneficial to trim their nails every month or two after bathing them. Like all dogs, Mini Aussiedoodles need to have their teeth brushed a few times per week to avoid dental issues, and their ears checked and cleaned regularly.  

Mini Aussiedoodle Exercise Needs

As an energetic dog breed, the Mini Aussiedoodle craves an active lifestyle. Although some might be less energetic than others, most Mini Aussiedoodle dogs want to be on the move, explore the outdoors, and make friends at neighborhood dog parks. Generally, Mini Aussiedoodle puppies need 4 to 5 short walks every day when they are very young. As adults, they need 2 daily walks and a few activities to keep them exercised. An average of 30 to 60 minutes of exercise is required with these energetic dogs. 

Mini Aussiedoodle Health

As a mixed breed of two purebred dogs, the Mini Aussiedoodle has a better gene pool and is less likely to be prone to the same ailments that are common with its parents. Although they are not likely to inherit any of these, the conditions that are common with the Mini Aussiedoodle’s parents include cataracts, retinal atrophy, epilepsy, allergies, hip dysplasia, and thyroid problems.   

Mini Aussiedoodle Lifespan

The Mini Aussiedoodle lifespan is between 12 and 15 years. Like most small dog breeds, Mini Aussiedoodles are a healthy and long-lived breed. To help your Mini Aussiedoodle reach an optimal age, it is recommended to stick to a balanced diet of high-quality dog food, provide plenty of exercise, and raise your Mini Aussiedoodle puppy in a safe and warm environment. 

Mini Aussiedoodle Training

Mini Aussiedoodle puppies are as bright as they come. Given that the Poodle and the Mini Aussie are their parents, you can expect your Mini Aussiedoodle puppies to impress in every lesson. Like their parents, Mini Aussiedoodles stand out for their keen intelligence and eagerness to please. They are fast learners and obedient puppy students. Some of their favorite rewards are puppy treats, belly rubs, praise, back scratching, and puppy toys that squeak. To easily train a Mini Aussiedoodle puppy, you need to take on a gentle and fun approach, provide lots of motivation, and keep training sessions in a low-distraction environment. Like all puppies, Mini Aussiedoodles can be easily distracted by noise and people, especially when they are very young, so it is recommended to find a suitable room where distractions are minimal. Reward-based motivation, encouragement, and positive reinforcement methods work best with these brilliant puppies.  
Leash training can be difficult at first given that these puppies are energetic and eager to inspect their surroundings. They will want to greet everyone in sight and make friends with all the dogs they meet. They might also have a slight prey drive inherited from their parents, so it is best to master leash training before your puppy’s first walk. Allow your Mini Aussiedoodle puppy time to become comfortable with its leash, harness, and collar before wearing them for the first time. Once your puppy accepts these objects both on and off, you can begin leash training. Teach your puppy to walk alongside you without pulling on the leash, and to be responsive to you at all times. You can use treats or toys to make sure their attention is focused on you. Recall is also an important training lesson your Mini Aussiedoodle puppy needs to master before its first walk.
